WHEN MUSIC

BECOMES MEDICINE

In 2019, Chloe launched The Chloe Temtchine Foundation (TCTF), a non-profit organization dedicated to using entertainment in an effort to inspire and empower people living with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and other life-threatening illnesses and to bringing hope to those in need.

Funds raised through TCTF help support the foundation’s many endeavors including The Smile Tour and Super Brave. Any and all donations help offset expenses that are not covered by sponsorships and/or grants.

Your support helps TCTF:

  • Bring music, laughter, and encouragement to hospitalized children and families through The Smile Tour

  • Produce creative, educational media that raises awareness about pulmonary hypertension and organ donation

  • Support early diagnosis and inspire compassion through public outreach and storytelling

  • Honor the legacy of Humayra and others whose courage continues to inspire change

Together, we can turn stories of survival into stories of purpose — and keep hope alive for those still fighting to breathe.

THE HISTORY

The Chloe Temtchine Foundation was born from one of life’s most profound paradoxes: the power to create hope in the midst of devastation.

For twelve years, singer-songwriter Chloe Temtchine lived with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and Pulmonary Veno-Occlusive Disease (PVOD), two rare, life-threatening conditions that made it difficult for her to breathe, speak, or sing. In 2014, after being released from the ICU, she wrote and recorded a song called Be Brave—a message to herself and to anyone fighting an “impossible” battle. Within weeks of its release, the song was embraced by the pulmonary hypertension community as an anthem of resilience. More than 150,000 copies were downloaded in its first ninety days, and thousands of messages poured in from patients and families whose lives had been touched by it.

Among those messages was one from an eight-year-old girl named Humayra Bodhania, who was living with PAH. Humayra’s radiant spirit and courage left a lasting mark on Chloe’s heart. When Humayra tragically passed away, Chloe made a promise: that her story—and the stories of others like her—would never be forgotten. That promise became The Chloe Temtchine Foundation (TCTF).

Founded on the belief that storytelling and music have the power to heal, educate, and unite, TCTF’s mission is to transform survival into purpose, bringing awareness to pulmonary hypertension and organ donation, empowering patients and families, and giving children facing chronic illness the chance to feel seen, celebrated, and strong.

What began as a single song has grown into a full movement. Through initiatives such as The Smile Tour, a hospital tour bringing music and joy to pediatric patients, and Super Brave Kids, an interview series featuring children who share the life lessons they have learned as a result of their illness, TCTF continues to spread hope to hospitals, schools, and communities across the country.

Although our programs were founded in the United States, our impact now extends internationally through digital storytelling, music, and awareness initiatives that educate, inspire, and mobilize communities around the world. We are particularly committed to reaching individuals who feel isolated or unseen in their medical journeys, offering them a voice, a platform, and a renewed sense of purpose through creative expression and meaningful human connection.

Today, The Chloe Temtchine Foundation stands at the intersection of art and purpose, proving that creativity can move people, change perspectives, and give new meaning to survival.
